The former star presenter of Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), Foly Dirane, died on Thursday March 26, 2026 in Yaoundé, at the age of 68, following an illness.

Once again, the Cameroonian press is in mourning. Following the deaths of Consty Eka and Arnaud Nguefack, Foly Dirane is now gone. He leaves behind a major legacy.

For several weeks now, the national media landscape has been suffering one loss after another. This situation has left professionals and the public alike deeply moved.

Real name Veyreton Adrien Tafeng, Foly Dirane left his mark on his era. He established himself as one of the most influential hosts of his generation. Through cult shows such as «Délire» and «Tam-Tam Weekend», he captivated viewers. His style, both original and accessible, reflected Cameroon's cultural realities.

A lasting cultural and media legacy

Over the years, he has not limited himself to animation. It has produced, trained and mentored many talented individuals. Today, many of them occupy a prominent place in the media. Through his expertise, he has also helped promote a number of artists.

According to corroborating sources, his health had deteriorated considerably in recent months. Recently, the Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, paid him a visit. He ordered medical treatment. Despite this mobilization, he did not survive.

But Foly Dirane didn't just shine on screen. He also excelled as a songwriter and satirist. Through humor, he described and questioned society.

Today, his death leaves a profound void in the Cameroonian media landscape. However, his work, style and influence will continue to inspire generations to come.
