At Nkolandom I, the faithful live a faith focused on inner transformation
The faithful Christians of the Protestant Church of Cameroon, Nkolandom I parish in the Yaoundé 1er arrondissement, celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ on April 5, 2026. This commemoration, central to the Christian faith, drew a large turnout and aroused deep spiritual fervor.
In a solemn and hopeful atmosphere, the believers took part in activities rich in teachings. Songs, prayers, Bible readings and sermons punctuated this Easter celebration. They were reminded of the profound meaning of Christ's victory over death.
Beyond its festive character, this feast is above all part of a dynamic of inner renewal. For many faithful, Passover is an opportunity to take stock of their lives. It is also a time for profound spiritual transformation.
In this contemplative atmosphere, the Christians of Nkolandom I expressed their desire to change their lives. For many of them, this celebration symbolizes a new birth. It marks a break with the past and a commitment to higher values.

«I long for change. It's a new life: the fear and frustrations are gone. I long for something better. I want a transformation. To be a gentler, more caring mom,» confides Hélène BoDiong, a former church member, visibly moved.
At the heart of the teachings, the parish leaders insisted on a sincere examination of conscience. They also called for a transformation of the heart. The faithful must review their behavior and abandon practices contrary to their faith. They are also invited to set their hearts on the Lord.
«This feast should lead us to change our hearts, review our behavior and question ourselves,» says a church elder. The sermons also highlighted the central message of the resurrection. This message is based on the Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 28. In this passage, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary discover Jesus« empty tomb. An angel announces: »He is not here; he has risen, just as he said he would. This fundamental story recalls the victory of life over death. It is the foundation of Christian hope.
With this in mind, the men of God urged the faithful to live this spiritual reality to the full. They encouraged them to seek the presence of the Holy Spirit. In a world marked by trials, they stressed the importance of relying on God.Considered the greatest feast in the Christian calendar, Passover goes beyond mere commemoration. It is a time for reflection and renewal. It invites every believer to embark on a new life, guided by faith, love and hope.
At Nkolandom I, this celebration goes beyond ritual. It becomes a true call to inner transformation and spiritual rebirth.
